To celebrate the start of the New Chinese Year, the year of the monkey, the children in the preschool room at Blue Sky have been very busy creating dragon faces out of paper plates, making monkeys from their hand prints and yet more dragon faces decorated using metallic dabber pens. These activities encourage the children to experiment with different media and resources and develops their pen control and their concentration.
We have turned our home corner into a Chinese restaurant for the next couple of weeks giving the children the chance to dress up and use role play to help make sense of the world around them through the use of imaginative play.
Maybe best of all was the special Chinese lunch which our fab nursery cook, Sue, prepared for us today… sweet and sour chicken with stir fried veg and egg noodles…. yummy does not come close!!
