Market Weighton Out of School Club and Holiday Club

Out of school club

Our Sprites are welcome to come to before and/or after school club which runs during the school term time. We offer a drop off and collection service for the following schools:

Saint Mary’s R C Primary School

Mount Pleasant C Of E Junior School

Market Weighton Infant School

Our Sprites can enjoy their breakfast with us before being taken to school in one of the Nursery cars.

Saint Mary’s R C Primary School – The children are taken to the gate and collected by a teacher

Mount Pleasant C Of E Junior School – Walk over to their classes while supervised, once the bell has gone

Market Weighton Infant School – Each child has dropped off at their relevant classroom

At the end of the school day we will collect the children and transport them back to nursery. Whilst the children are waiting to return to Blue Sky, we give them the opportunity to burn off the day’s energy or stresses in the school playground with their friends under supervision of our OOSC staff. When they get back, the children can take part in pre-organised activities or choose their own entertainment from our extensive resources. We have a large cosy quiet area with comfy chairs and beanbags for the children who wish to relax or read a book.

Once all the children are back at Blue Sky a snack tea is served to all the children. Our menu varies seasonally.

The sprites team engage in termly topics giving the children chance to delve in a variety of interesting and varied subjects. These have included space and planets, exploring ancient Egypt, performing small shows, covering relevant national events and learning about birds of prey.

During favorable weather we like to spend time outdoors in our large gardens, enjoying team games and physical exercise. The sprites room also has an excellent soft play area that the children can use periodically.

Holiday club

tDuring the school holidays we have various exciting programs of events. Our team plan a set of activities for each day such as making birdfeeders, baking, building giant sculptures, and a wide range of crafts and our very popular trip days out.

We provide breakfast, a morning and afternoon snack as well as a snack tea at around 4 pm for children spending the full day with us. Children are required to bring a packed lunch with them as well as a water bottle.

We also spend lots of time outdoors, either visiting the parks, going on nature walks or having fun in our large gardens.

Our trips days offer the opportunity to safely explore lots of exciting places. We have visited places such as Filey Bird and Animal Park, Ings Alpacas, Dalby Forest and East Park. We have even bottle-fed spring lambs.
During the summer we also like to spend time at the seaside and the local parks and nature reserves.
Availability on trip days is quite limited due to transport, so early booking is advised.

The next Holiday club days are:

22nd July 2024 – 31st August 2024
