Our new Rising 5s room
Blue Sky has taken the exciting decision to open a Rising 5s room, the Kelpies room is dedicated for the children starting school in the next year and offers a unique opportunity for the team to focus on helping the children prepare for starting school.
Around the World – This months nursery topic
This month the nursery topic has been ‘around the world’. We have learnt lots of interesting facts and language from other countries all around the world.
Free Family Fun Day
We had a fantastic day today for our Free Family Fun Day with lots of visitors, old and new, coming to join in the fun!
Children learn about and release the butterflies
We released our butterflies today and they looked so beautiful as they flew off into our garden.
Baking a tractor cake

Today marked a very special day in Blue Sky Nursery’s calendar… Graduation Day!

Stay and Play Messy Morning Now Running
We now run a ‘stay and play messy morning’ on the third Wednesday of every month in our soft play cafe.
Parents/ grandparents and carers are welcomed to stay with their little ones to join in with messy arts, crafts and experimenting fun and games.
Elves topic ‘Our bodies’
As part of our topic ‘Our Bodies’ the children in the preschool room have been learning a lot about healthy eating. They have made their own healthy pasta salad and even made some delicious desserts with fruits and meringues. The children also played with fruit and vegetables by paint printing with them.
Easter Eggstravaganza
We are holding our fantastic Easter Eggstravaganza again this year. Its on 20th March 10:30am - 2:30pm. There will be an Easter Egg hunt with a prize, face painting, tattoos, raffle a cake stall and lots of fun games and activities for all the family.
Stay and play messy mornings
We are starting to hold a 'stay and play' messy morning on the third Wednesday of every month in the play cafe 9:30 - 11:30am for a cost of £2.00. Any nursery parents get a discount of £1.00. We will be having various messy craft play including parent and child hand...
Our Bodies
The topic in nursery this month is ‘Our Bodies’. This topic encourages the children’s personal and social development by looking at how they are different and yet still the same as their friends, taking about eye and hair colour, if they are taller or shorter, younger or older than their friends.
Chinese New Year
To celebrate the start of the New Chinese Year, the year of the monkey, the children in the preschool room at Blue Sky have been very busy creating dragon faces out of paper plates, making monkeys from their hand prints and yet more dragon faces decorated using metallic dabber pens.
Princess Castle Cake Baking
To extend our theme of Pirate and Princess this week our toddler room have had great fun making and decorating a princess castle cake.
Pirate and Princess Day
Our topic for January and February is ‘pirates and princesses’
Through out these months we are planning lots of activities to coincide with this topic such as Pirate ship building to explore our physical development.
