Working with SEN

Here at Blue Sky we know that every child and circumstance is different, and that’s Okay.

We are constantly working towards having our settings to be inclusive, by adjusting everyday aspects of nursery life to work best with the needs of the children currently in each environment.

Identifying Sen In Nursery

Where a child has additional needs, or suspected additional needs, we feel it is paramount to find out as much as possible, about the child to allow us to provide the best support. We do this as soon as registration in the ‘assessing your needs’ form found in our parent pack.

Children Joining With Sen

For children joining with known additional needs we provide a positive and welcoming environment where children are supported according to their individual needs, and we work hard to ensure no children are discriminated against or put at a disadvantage as a consequence of their needs.

We work diligently with parents, the local authority and other support services, such as speech and language therapists, local children centres, and child phycologists and physiotherapists.

We have a set process here at Blue Sky that allows us to try get the assistance our children need, as quickly as we are able to.

We have staff trained in SEN who are available to help with any questions or concerns parents may have.
